This movie was definately interesting, in a different way. Although a bit intense at times and the script is a bit strange, this movie is actually fairly good.

Undeniably motivational. It's just the kind of movie Mr. Redford likes to roll, although this one had Lasse Kallstrom in the director chair. I liked the interpretation of Morgan Freeman, and Jennifer Lopez was fine all in all. Oh yes, and Bart the bear raises his paw, too.

This was a very inspiring movie. Robert Redford always seems to come through on movies like this. Morgan Freeman was just like I like him in this one also. The movie didn't really have a low moment.

Very good film. The acting was superb of course that because it has Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman! They are great plus Jennifer Lopez wasn't that bad actually...It is her best movie in my opinion, So after all it was worth watching.

A mediocre film, the premise was weak and the gap in acting ability between Lopez and her two talented co-stars proved a chasm too deep to breach - I give this movie a grade of C and that's due to Freeman's and Redford's presence.

Robert Redford played a great rugged performance, and the movie would not have been as good without Morgan Freeman. A truly touching film.

Now this film brings oscar award winning actors together in a great written screenplay with troubles that some people actually face in everyday life in overcoming there fears and tribulations.I would have to say robert redford has done a great job acheiving a father that has great loss for his son,but takes it out on his best friend in a pulsating performance in this family drama.Morgan freeman and robert redford deserve to be caled best friends im sure after making this inspirational film.I very much enjoyed it along with my wife.I reccomend this film top honors, and 5 stars all the way! Please watch this film with a person you love.

very very interesting story, well plotted and u gets captivated with the first couple of scenes with jennifer lopez in an ill-relationship. there's a more sad side to the story which actually formed the movie and makes it a very good drama.

Great movie. Great storyline. About a woman that goes back where it all started and reconcilliation takes place! (My opinion)

A carefully but not brilliantly crafted kind of western that draws the viewer in and shows him exactly what it promises. It succeeds on that level but does not demonstrate any ingenuity or flourish with any profound cinematic moments.

Some fantastic actors drew me towards watching this one, a fairly simple storyline but still some good themes and morals....

A touching film that has a heartfelt script and some terrific performances from its cast. The friendship between Robert Reford's character and Morgan Freeman's character is delightful with their friendly banter and sage advice.

Redford and Freeman give typical top notch performances in the film version of the novel of the same name. At first, my bias against Lopez wanted me to hate her in the movie, but she did a very good job working with the 2 great actors. Becca Gardner held her own in her scenes with Redford and you could sense as the movie went on that her comfort level increased. I liked that the story line between Lopez and Lucas never became more than hints here and there. I'm glad that the filmmakers didn't go Hollywood and turn a great movie into a typical one in regards to the exboyfriend's return in the end. They could have made it into a cheap unnecessary conflict but I'm glad they didn't.

Robert redford stars in this heart breaking story of love and redemption about an aging rancher named Einar gilkyson who psnet his days on his ranch and helping his friend mitch who has survived after been mauled by a bear and now lives in pain for a while and unable to do many things for himself without having his best frined einar helping him. Now living his lfie with mitch in solitude forever blaming himself and the widow of his son for his son;s death in a car accident begins to take a new turn when the widow of his dead son named Jean arrives to the dorrstep of his ranch. At first he begins to turn her away and wanted nothing to do with her until he met her daughter and the only child left in his family and with some conviction from his best friend Mitch agrees to help her out until she can get back on her feet. Slowly getting smitten wiith his granddaughter who begins to have a growing desire for a father figur and the ways of living life on the ranch and in her grandfather's stories and realizing how much time he has wasted being angry he begins to accept both her and her mom into his life once again. The door begins to open fro forgiveness, acceptance and acccepting one another for who they are and forgiving their past. Everything seems to go well until her new abusive boyfriend from another state comes out looking for her causing friction for everyone and ultimatly causing Einer to confront the abusive boyfriend and to save his life.

This film is wonderfully directed by lasse haalstrom. Witha wonderful cast the wonderful robert redford and morgan freeman always good in their roles and a very good jenifer lopez who has been doing bad films for the past few years has done some of her best work in this film and it shows. She holds her own opposite robert redford.

a modern classic with great storytelling and characters worth spending two hours with.

not to be missed and worth buying.

A very good story - mostly about forgiveness and understanding - especially of one's self. Performances were very good. I do think this was a small film with big actors. It reminded me more of something made for Lifetime TV - with big name actors in it. Perhaps not quite enough for the large screen, but seeing it on DVD should be enjoyable for most as it was for me.
